Development Strategy
How We Want to Develop
Since its inception in the summer of 2007, China Development Youth Forum believes in the potential of youth and the power of the Internet technology. Established and run by a group of passionate and young college students, CDYF aims to raise the public awareness of China development issues among the youth of U.S. and China, and even the world. CDYF starts from an Internet-based interest group, and is going to complete its formal non-profit entity registration by the end of 2007. Supported by international staff team with expanding regional offices in China and the U.S. CDYF's ultimate goal is to become the premier organization that informs and educates the American and Chinese young students about China development issues, as well as offering unparallel opportunities and resources.
Core Values
What We Believe and Intend to Achieve
Public Education
We intend to serve as a vehicle of public education to better inform the American and Chinese college students about the complicated nature of China's social development issues, and to engage students in critical and innovative thinkings in working out resolutions to make a difference. We try to expand our influence and impact via modern Internet technologies and traditional community outreach activities.
Leadership Development
CDYF identifies potential student leaders committed to careers of advancing China's social development, and provides unparallel opportunities and resources to foster stronger leadership skills among talented and accomplished youth leaders from two countries with interest and passion on China's social development issues.
Network Building
CDYF connects like-minded college students who are passionate about social development issues in China, offers the opportunity for American and Chinese college students to work together for a same meaningful cause, and strenghthens the bilateral understanding beween the youth of the two countires. We are taking our own efforts to make the world a better place to live, as well as to contribute to the constructive development of U.S.-China relations, which is arguably the most important bilateral relations in the twentieth-first century.
Operations Structure
How We Work as a Team
Currently, China Development Youth Forum is in the process of filing its legal registration files to be a U.S. government-recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Student officers around the U.S. devote their free time to programming planning and implementation through Internet communication. While formally a U.S.-registered student organization, China Development Youth Forum has a strong presence in China, and its China affairs is managed by a vibrant student leadership team registered as an official student organization in the prestigous Peking University. Our China branch is led by Tom Xianzhong Chen.
CDYF is also seeking passionate student leaders to expand our network by establishing school chapters worldwide. Please contact Hao Yan for details about how to set up a chapter on you campus.
