How to Get Involved

Senior Partners

We are looking for college upperclassmen and graduate students who have demonstrated a fair amount of academic knowledge on development-related disciplines (such as economics, sociology, environmental studies, international relations and etc) with extensive experience in student organizations and non-profit management. Senior partners are welcome to serve as directors in other departments and committees if interested, while in general, senior partners are responsible for strategic planning of the group development and overseeing the overall operations of the organization. Talented and accomplished Chinese and American college students are welcome to apply for our senior partner positions.

Department/Committee with Vacant

Fundraising Committee

Our organization is expected to complete the formal registration as a 501(3) non-profit in the U.S. by the end of 2007. Starting from the fall, the fundraising committee is in charge of submitting our non-profit status proposal, designing and implementing our fundraising campaigns by working with various foundations and organizations.

Public Relations Committee

As our organization develops, we intend to establish informal and formal relationship with academic institutions, foundations, non-profit groups, and other social organizations in China and U.S. focusing on development-related areas, and to promote and present ourselves to the young population in the two countries. The PR Committee is responsible for our publicity campaign and group external relations.

Online Publication

CDFY plans to publish high-quality online newsletters and magazines to inform and educate our general members about the latest about China's development issues. Please visit "CDYF Dialogue" for details.

Technology Division

Technology division is responsible for website maintenance and update. We plan to launch our independent-domain website by the end of this year.

Project-specific Committee

As CDYF develops, we are in need of new staff members to implement our new programs. Please visit "Program" for details. Motivated student leaders are also welcome to propose and submit their own project ideas.

Department/Committee Directors and Senior Officers

We are looking for college upperclassmen students who would like to work on a particular area of his or her interest. Directors are responsible for developing new program ideas and assigning job responsibilities to officer members, who work on various aspects of the project implementation stage.

Department/Committee Program Officers

We are looking for freshman and sophomore college students who would like get involved with the organization starting with our entry-level program officer positions. New officers will be promoted to senior positions based on qualifications and performance.

Volunteers and Professional Consultants

We are also looking for people who would like to work for us on a part-time and short-term voluntary basis. Also, young professionals are also welcome to serve as our professional consultants to provide strategic consulting opinions on important group affairs.
